That's how you protect yourself

Charlotte yowled in pain as the wolves teeth grasped her leg and threw her against the hard earth. The pain ran up her leg to her her head, making her teeth clench in response. But she wouldn't give up so easy, she leaped to her feet to dodge the fangs that launched towards her again, this time she leaped on the wolves head and raced along its body to run away. But to no avail her weak leg was easy target.
The wolf spun its head and body around and reached out to grasp her neck, Charlotte closed her eyes knowing the end was now. Then she heard it.
The sound of claws or teeth ripping very deep into skin, but not her own skin, she landed hard on the ground once more, since she expected to get grabbed by the wolf and killed. But when she opened her eyes she saw the black and white wolf on the ground, its blood staining the area quickly from its throat and mouth. Charlotte just laid there, here eyes wide until she registered someone beside her. She leaped to her feet and turned towards her savior or killer. Whatever you wanted to call this cat.
Her ears straighten up and eyes widen again when she saw it was a brown tabby tom cat, who's white paw was stained with the wolves blood. He looked at her and smirked and spoke
"That's how you protect yourself"
Charlotte just stood there bewildered.

I forgot to mention why Charlotte has a collar around her neck
Well Charlotte was a human who was a experiment for a secret organization. They place a collar like tracker on her neck so she couldn't bolt. One day they gave her a pill to experiment if it would kill someone.
She manage to escape the room where she was held before it took effect. When it did she was turned into a cat and now has the organization people after her. But they don't know she is a cat.
